Wearers of Davaar - Lucy Nilson

Each week as part of a new series, Wearers of Davaar, we sit down with our good friends from our Davaar community to discuss all things life, passions and of course Davaars. This week, we have the pleasure of speaking with Lucy Nilson, a tourism executive, outdoor enthusiast, and avid hunter.

After spending four years at university studying Sociology and Political Science and in and amongst the mayhem of Covid-19, Lucy moved back to her hometown of Hokitika on the beautiful West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, where she is currently the Tourism Executive for Development West Coast, promoting the region to domestic and international agents.

Securing her dream job was a testament to Lucy's belief in the adage, "when one door closes, another opens." Her tenacity and optimism have consistently led her to seize new opportunities. Lucy is an exceptional hunter, a Katniss Everdeen equivalent if you will! She began hunting at the ripe age of four. The great outdoors is her happy place, providing solace and an escape from the confines of indoor life.

What's important to you when purchasing clothing?

Quality is extremely important, and longevity. I don’t mind spending money on something I know I will love, and have for many, many years to come. If I can support NZ businesses whilst I’m at it - even better.

Which Davaar jersey do you have?

I have The Modern Musterer in tussock- and I love it!!

How do you use and wear your Davaar?

My Davaar comes with me everywhere - whether it’s in the tops hunting, down at the bach, at work, out for dinner, and everything in between. It’s such a staple in my wardrobe and can be worn however you please.

What do you love most about your Davaar?

Hmm this is tricky to answer because there really is so much I love about it. But I do love how versatile it is, and it’s so bloody warm!!
